Getting Close: The World to Ellsworth to Winter Harbor
Coming from the West, outside of Maine: Travel on Interstate 95 until you reach the exits for Bangor, Maine.
Get off at the newly renumbered Exit ?? that will put you on Interstate 395. Follow this to it's terminus, and then exit onto route 1A South or "East." Follow route 1A until you reach Ellsworth, where Rt. 1A joins US Rt 1.
Continue South on Rt 1/1A through Ellsworth until you reach the intersection with Rt 3. Take a LEFT at the fork towards Rt 1 Downeast Maine, Machias. (That is, do not take Rt 3 to Bar Harbor.)
Take US Route 1 East to turnoffs for Rt 186 to Winter Harbor. Follow Rt !86 until you reach Main Street, Winter Harbor. (Gas Station on your right. Water in front of you.)

Take US Route 1 to turnoffs for Rt 186 to Winter Harbor.

Finding Hammond Hall in Winter Harbor

Phone: 207 963 2569Turn right onto Main Street, Winter Harbor and go .4 mile to Hammond Hall. Just past the Bar Harbor Bank and Trust building.) Watch for signs re parking--it is limited, and there is a working lobster road to the right of the Hall. Please do not park there.
